Allysen Olsen

Allysen Olsen grew up on a farm in the wild west with an untamed love for cows and dancing. The passion, drive, and work ethic she learned on the farm has led her to fall in love with the ferocious physicality of dance. Pursuing her B.S. In dance has allowed her to combine her love of movement and science to unlock the efficiency and power of the body while learning how to nurture it. Granted a scholarship to attend American Dance Festival at Duke University in 2019 allowed her to diversify her training by working with numerous companies and artists from around the world.  Shortly after she obtained her BASI Pilates in 2020 teaching certification by going through a 9-month course of modules. In addition, Allysen has performed at ACDA, American College  Dance Association-Northwest region and IDEO, Idaho Dance Education Organization. Outside of college, she puts value on continuing to be a student and has attended other conferences such as Doug Varone, Vim Vigor, and numerous in person and zoom master classes and intensives. Through it all, her untamed spirit has given her the audacity to stray from the comfort of the farm and unleash the animal within. Allysen dances professionally with Atlas Dance Collective and shares her experiences with her students teaching at dance studios, private school dance

programs and was recently added as an Adjunct Professor at Salt Lake Community College as part of the dance department faculty. Allysen aspires to continue her research of physicality and the empathetical transfer between dance performer-spectator and use her research in the dance and fitness industry to help others unlock their potential to embody fully and dance confidently through life.
