Kaitlyn Handley

Kaitlyn Handley began dancing at age four in a combined Tap and Ballet program. As she matured and fell in love with dance she integrated Jazz, Lyrical, Hip-Hop, Modern, Contemporary, Pointe, Ballet, Tap, and many composition classes through Canyon View Arts Center School of the Performing Arts. During this time, she was awarded the Mary Kasai memorial scholarship for technique, attitude, performance ability, and stage etiquette. In school, along with becoming a member of her junior high and high school dance companies, she also had the opportunity to perform in Mountain West Ballet and Academy of Ballet Arts Nutcracker performances. She performed numerous roles including: Spanish soloist, Rose soloist, Candy Cane, Snow Demi-soloist, Merliton Soloist, and many other roles. She has attended many dance summer workshops including BYU's advanced Ballet camps under the tutelage of Michael Beardon. She danced with a professional Modern Dance Company, Kinuko Modern Dance Company, for four years, and Gileadi Dance Company for one year.  On top of this, Kaitlyn was able to perform as a guest dancer for the Unity Gospel Choir with 5-time Grammy winner Mervyn Warren. During this time, Kaitlyn was accepted into the dance education program at Utah Valley University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Dance Education this last fall. While studying at UVU, Kaitlyn was a member of UVU's Hip Hop company, MosA.I.C., and UVU's Modern company Synergy. While participating with Synergy, Kaitlyn traveled with the company to Greely, Colorado to represent the university at the American College Dance Association, where she performed a piece choreographed by Natosha Washington. Kaitlyn has had the opportunity to teach and choreograph at various studios all around Utah. She was able to be the dance company assistant for Park City High School from 2017–2018, started and directed a dance program at Ignite Entrepreneurship Academy 2018–2019, and is now the Wellness Director for dance and yoga at Franklin Discovery Academy. During this time, she has also been a Director at Corner Dance Studio for Ballet, Pointe, Tumbling, and Hip Hop programs as well as being involved with judging dance competitions all around the Midwest. As Kaitlyn's career continues to take off, she is excited for all the new adventures that await and is excited to be returning to Atlas for her third season as dancer and choreographer as she will debut “Screened In,” created by herself and her husband, Jordan.
